The Norwegian solar energy company Otovo is raising NOK 150 million in an investment round led by Axel Johnson.

Axel Johnson, Otovo and Otovo's founders have reached an agreement where Axel Johnson will invest NOK 177 million in Otovo, at a subscription price of NOK 95 per share.

Solar energy will play a central role in the energy system of the future

The investment in Otovo is the second in a short time that Axel Johnson is making in the solar energy sector. Earlier this year, it was announced that Axel Johnson has become the owner of the solar cell company Eneo.

- We strongly believe in the central role that solar energy will play in the energy system of the future, and with this investment we significantly increase our presence in the area. Otovo fits perfectly into our investment strategy, with its ambition to help households use solar energy quickly and easily, with the help of technology that reduces costs for the consumer, says Stina Andersson, COO at Axel Johnson.

Otovo is an Oslo-based platform for distributed energy installers, focused on solar energy systems for homes. Through its platform, Otovo offers a start-to-finish service for households that want to use solar energy. The company, which was founded in 2016, is located in Norway, Sweden, France and Spain and aims for further geographical expansion.

Otovo har i tidigare finansieringsrundor tagit in NOK 200 miljoner i eget kapital.
